What is microcement?

Microcement is a decorative, composite coating based on cement, water-based resins, additives and mineral pigments.

Is microcement waterproof?

Microcement is built to last and is frequently used in bathrooms, wetrooms and surfaces that are exposed to water so you can feel assured this product is safe to use in any areas where it will come into contact with moisture.

Can microcement be used over tiles?

Microcement can be applied over existing tiles, further to a site survey to assess the quality and stability of the existing surface, we would take the necessary precautions and preparations to ensure the installation is completed effectively.

How durable is microcement?

Although microcement is only 2-3mm thick, once it has had time to cure it is very strong and long-lasting. The initial period after installation i.e. 10-14 days is when it requires some time to cure meaning it is slightly less durable during this time however, surfaces are very durable after this period. What preparation is required for Microcement?

Is microcement heat resistant?

What is the difference between Microcement and polished concrete?

The most notable differences between microcement in comparison to polished concrete are that it can be applied to walls and ceilings, it takes less time to install and therefore less expense is involved, microcement is seamless and has no joins.
 

Does microcement crack?

Microcement will only crack if the substrate has too much movement or damage to the surface has caused the microcement to crack. For guidance on the preparation work required prior to installation, to ensure future cracking is avoided, please get in touch.
